COVID-19 UPDATE

Dear Patients and Friends,

The safety and health of our patients and our work family remains our highest priority. We have been working diligently to create the safest and most efficient environment and procedures while complying with recommendations from the CDC, OSHA, American Optometric Association and the State of Maryland.  We have invested heavily in PPE equipment and cleaning supplies and reconfigured our office to create a safer, cleaner, more streamlined practice.
Some modifications to the practice and procedures include:
  • ALL employees and patients will be required to wear masks upon entering the office
  • Additional hands-free hand sanitizer stations around the office
  • Tempered glass barriers at the front desk
  • Mandatory employee and patient questionnaire and temperature screenings before entering the office
  • Patients will be asked to check in by text or telephone from their vehicles when they arrive.  We will be keeping the amount of patients in the office to a minimum.  We ask that you not bring anyone in with you, unless accompanying a minor or someone who needs assistance.
  • If you have a fever, symptoms of a respiratory infection (including cough, sneezing, shortness of breath, or chills), or have been in contact with anyone who has these symptoms or confirmed COVID-19, you will need to reschedule your visit for 2 weeks or more from that time. This includes coming to the office to pay a bill, ask questions, or pick something up. If you are having an urgent issue, please call the office so we can help get you the appropriate care.
  • You are encouraged to fill out all paperwork (available online) ahead of time and e-mail/text copies/pictures of insurance cards at least 24 hours before your appointment if possible.
  • For patients that aren’t comfortable or able to come in, we are still offering telemedicine visits
  • For the time being, all glasses dispensing and adjustments and contact lens pickups will be by appointment only
We realize that there are hundreds of patients who have missed their appointments.  Please bear with us, as we have limited our schedule a bit to account for additional cleaning/sterilization between patients and streamlining overall patient flow.  Please let us know if there are special circumstances and, as always, we will do everything in our power to accommodate all of our amazing patients.  We can’t give our customary hugs and handshakes but we hope you continue to feel and show all the love.
